Masters Dissertation Research: Tag (2018)

Though Tag (2018) is not technically a Biopic I have decided to include it in my research. This is because it is based off of the true story of a group of friends playing an almost 30 year long game of Tag and going as far as to break into one anothers houses to do so. It is also interesting to see the comedic approach to biographical films, which is rather rare.

This film has an incredibly strong cast, including Jon Hamm, Isla Fisher, Jake Johnson, Jeremy Renner, Hannibal Buress, Ed Helms, and many others who help to carry the somewhat less strong plot. Though the concept is funny the writing is a little cheap, with some of the jokes falling flat, and the reviews that I've seen seem to be representative of this, with most of them giving it no more than three stars.

Personally, I felt that the movie was enjoyable, but not technically good. However, I feel like this has become a common feature of modern comedy films, and would be hesitant to criticise it for this.
