This week I will be talking about the 2016 film denial, which follows the lible case brought forward by known holocaust denier David Irving against Deborah Lipstadt, a holocaust scholar. The story brings forward an important question: where does freedom of speech begin and end?

Lipstadt, portrayed in the film by Rachel Weisz, is an interesting and intriguing character. Her emotional pull to the topic she has spent decades studying is clear, and the pain that Irving (played by Timothy Spall) causes to her and her community in his claims are stunningly put accross in the writing.

The acting, throughout the movie, is phenomenal, with the standouts obviously including Weisz and Spall, but also Tom Wilkinson and Andrew Scott. All of them do an outstanding job of portraying their characters.

The writing is perfectly paced, allowing for the audience to remain interested in what could have become a slow and boring story, where it written differently.

Personally, I really enjoyed this story. In fact, I didn't originally intend to watch the film, but it happened to come on the TV as something else finished, and as it got further and further along I found myself watching despite myself.
