Unbroken (2014) tells the story of Louis Zamperini, an olympic runner and Second World War hero who spent 47 days stranded on a raft in the ocean, before being caught by a Japanese navy ship and sent to a Prisoner of War camp.
The film, directed by Angelina Jolie is heartwrenching and left me in tears on multiple occassions. Zamperini's story is inspiring and emotional and the actors and crew portrayed it incredibly.
Jack O'Connell, who plays Zamperini, does a fantastic job of showing both the inner and outer turmoil that the character suffered throughout his life. The other actors, who play against O'Connell, are all of the same standard, giving the movie an authentic feel and keeping the audience completely entertained throughout.
Personally, I really enjoyed this film, and this was my second time watching it. It is a story of strength, determination, and survival, the likes of which I had never seen before, and it is stunning to watch ifrom beginning to end in the way that Jolie has created it.
